Breakfast with a View: The Godolphin Arms

Perfectly positioned opposite Cornwall’s iconic St Michael’s Mount you’ll find The Godolphin Arms, a contemporary beachside restaurant offering delicious, locally sourced food and outstanding views near Penzance. ⁣The Godolphin Arms is easily one of the best places to eat, drink and get breakfast in Penzance.

On the first Saturday of 2020, my sister Niki and I enjoyed breakfast looking out to one of Cornwall’s most historic landmarks. Honestly, the view to St Michael’s Mount is is insane! My friend Melisa and I visited the mount back in the Summer and had a great time. Click here to read the post.

The Godolphin Arm’s breakfast menu offers a wide range of dishes. Think cooked breakfasts, breakfast muffins and baps, sweet waffles, veggie/vegan dishes, and granola bowls. There is literally something for everyone, even if you have dietary requirements!

Niki and I both indulged in coffee and fresh pastries, then attempted a Cornish Breakfast and smoked salmon topped with scrambled eggs. It was delicious and exactly what I needed after the excessive intake of junk food over the Christmas period.

What more could you want? A delicious breakfast overlooking one of Cornwall’s most iconic landmarks. Fortunately, it was a beautiful sunny morning so Niki and I decided to take a walk along the beach afterwards. We made friends with some four-legged animals and even spotted some keen sea swimmers (yes, in January!)

If you don’t like eating breakfast then The Godolphin Arms also opens for lunch, dinner and casual drinks. With 10 en-suite rooms, the Godolphin Arms is also a great base for exploring West Cornwall. I posted a photo of the view from our table on Instagram and it soon became apparent that the restaurant is a firm favourite with both locals and visitors.

Marazion is an incredible part of Cornwall. In 2020 I plan to paddleboard around the mount. It’s certainly an activity to tick off of the Cornish Bucket List! Head to their website - https://www.thegodolphin.com/ to book in for the restaurant or hotel.
