Cici's Bar at Paul Ainsworth's No6 in Padstow

This week we had the pleasure of being invited to Cici’s Bar, situated above Paul Ainsworth’s renowned Michelin-starred restaurant No6 to indulge in beautiful cocktails and pintxos.

The bar was refurbished at the beginning of the year and is the ideal destination for savouring pre-dinner cocktails or sampling bite-sized flavours from No6's culinary repertoire, without committing to the full restaurant menu. The atmosphere is relaxed, the house music is on point, and the food is undeniably exceptional.

In terms of cocktails, Scott went for the ‘Who Dares Wins’ which is made with Paul Ainsworth’s own gin, and it was honestly incredible. I went for the Madeira Cobbler which is made from madeira, fresh orange and sugar syrup.

We were treated to an assortment of pintxos to go alongside our cocktails which included crab tempura (my personal favourite), guindilla pickles, chorizo picante, goral olives, cave ages manchego, cheese scone with cultured butter and vintage cheese. There is so much attention to detail, with nods to Cornish produce through illustration and conversation. After, the team treated us with the No6 new strawberry dessert, paired with madeleines and home-made ice cream. Olive oil on ice-cream? Outstanding!

A special mention to @paulainsw6rth for giving us a tour around the new kitchen (Scott was in his element) and to @chrismcclurg and @winwoood for taking care of us. Last year, Scott treated me to the No6 tasting menu for my birthday, which proved to be one of the most memorable experiences. Let me assure you that Cici’s Bar offers a real glimpse into the Michelin-star experience, and trust me, it's an endeavour well worth embarking on. 🤌🏼
