Fistral Beach Hotel: Coastal Living and Fine Dining

Fistral Beach Hotel is proudly perched on the cliffside, overlooking Newquay’s most loved beach, Exclusively for adults, Fistral Beach Hotel is the perfect base for those looking for a romantic getaway by the coast - with a gorgeous spa, incredible food and draw-dropping views, the hotel really does have it all. Their motto is to “live like a rockstar”, and it’s safe to say that we certainly felt that way during our night stay.

Location- pentire headland Fistral Beach

The hotel is located on Pentire Headland, on the south side of Fistral. In my eyes the hotel is positioned perfectly - it only takes five minutes to walk to the other side of Fistral where you’ll find multiple restaurants and bars. It takes a further five minutes to reach the town centre. The hotel is based far enough from the hustle and bustle of Newquay, but close enough to explore other beaches and venture to other foodie spots.

The view from the hotel really is jaw-drapping. From your room, you can be on the beach within minutes. Either watch the waves from the balcony, or go and join the fellow beach-goers.

an Adults Only Hotel

Yep, that’s right - Fistral Beach Hotel is exclusively for adults. Ellie and I felt so spoilt during our stay - we enjoyed a morning swim in their gorgeous spa, followed by pre-dinner cocktails at The Bay Bar and then experienced the tasting menu at The Dune Restaurant, their fine dining restaurant. The hotel has everything you could possibly want for a romantic or girly getaway. There is also a gym which is also open to the public.

The staff members that we encountered during our stay were extremely friendly and helpful too!

The Rooms

Ellie and I had the pleasure of staying in one of their “best” rooms (it does what it says on the tin!) and it truly was incredible. As soon as we walked into the room we gasped at the insane view that the room offered over the Atlantic. Not only is the view out of this world, but the room itself boasts extreme luxurious coastal living. Everything was flawless, including the finer details of the room. Our room was super spacious, and even had a little coffee machine which was a total bonus (I am not sure if all rooms are equipped with a coffee machine!) In each room you’ll find GAIA Spa products which are quite easily my favourite spa products possible.

The bathroom, wow! The centrepiece of the room is quite obviously, the bath, but for good reason. It is positioned so you can sit back and relax, whilst watching the waves from the tub. The bath receives a solid 10/10 from me.

Dinner at The Dune Restaurant

I was extremely excited about experiencing the tasting menu at The Dune Restaurant. I had heard from several people that Head Chef, Dan Kerr is an exceptional chef so I couldn’t wait to try. We opted for the pescatarian tasting menu (that was an Ellie decision, give me all the meat!) and enjoyed 5 dishes, including mackeral + elderflower, vodka cured chalk farm trout, plaice fillet + plum tomato + scallop, oyster mushroom, and strawberries and cream.

Every single dish was incredible. My personal favourite being the plaice fillet, plum tomato, scallop and vanilla butter. We also had the matching wine pairing which enhanced the flavour of each dish and wine. I’ve always seen wine pairing as an art (like cooking + plating!) and I have to say, the team at Fistral nailed it. The wines were beautifully chosen - one of my favourites being the orange wine paired with the Oyster Mushroom.

The menu at The Dune Restaurant changes seasonally, along with the wine, to make sure that they are getting the very best in local produce. The restaurant is also open to non-hotel guests.

The Spa, Fistral Hotel

Ellie and I decided to go for a swim and sauna before checking out of the hotel. I visited the spa in 2019 and received the best massage that I’ve ever had (still to this day!) Read more about the spa on a previous post here. The hotel uses Gaia products, which are my favourite spa products - they smell insane. The first time I ever used Gaia products was at Boringdon Hall (their sister hotel) and fell in love with the body scrub straight away. Made in Britain, Gaia Blends are unique, naturally made, free from parabens and sulphates, synthetic colours or fragrances and none of the products have been tested on animals.

*We were offered a complimentary stay in exchange for a review - all opinions are my own, we had such an incredible stay!
