Restaurants in Cornwall: Schooners, St Agnes
Is there anything better than having dinner on the beach in Cornwall? I think not! I’m always on the hunt for the best restaurants in Cornwall, so Josh and I decided to venture to St Agnes last Sunday for tacos. After seeing Schooners flood my Instagram homepage, I decided that it was my duty to go and check it out for myself.
Schooners is a bar and grill located on the beach at St Agnes. With a relaxed atmosphere; insane view, and seriously good food, Schooners quickly made its way to the top of my favourite places to eat in Cornwall. They operate on a walk-in basis so we were really were winging it, however, the staff were super accommodating and made sure that we were seated and welcomed as quickly as possible.
The menu is full of incredible dishes, and best believe me, we wanted to try the lot! Josh decided to go for the Bedland Fish Tacos (crispy hake, pickled red cabbage, and red aioli) and I opted for the Chargrilled Prawn Tacos (juicy grilled prawns, spicy aioli, avo salsa verde, iceberg lettuce.) As a side, we shared the Schooners Fries which came topped with spicy aioli, coriander onions, and pickled chilli.
We were both so impressed with the food! We swapped a taco each and honestly, all of our dishes tasted insane (let alone the presentation!) I’m already planning my next visit and exactly what I’m going to order. Their “world-famous” Schooners Gravy Cheeseburger is apparently a real winner - so maybe that will be my next indulgent.
