An Evening at The Bottle, a Winery & Deli Restaurant in Newquay
Is there anything better than sipping on a glass of fine wine with several charcuterie boards presented in front of you? I think not! That’s exactly what we experienced during a dinner trip to The Bottle, a deli and winery located in Newquay.
The Bottle is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of central Newquay and specialises in fine wines, charcuterie boards and small plates. Owners, Toyah and Rob wanted to create an informal and friendly wine bar and deli inspired by previous trips to France. I mean, the French definitely do it right!
The Bottle is a gorgeous, intimate space full of character. My sister Niki and I sat down to a glass of Col Fondo, the first English sparkling wine to be offered on tap! A perfect aperitif!
The Bottle has a wide selection of cheese and meats to choose from, however Niki and I opted for a x3 meat board combined with Nduja, prosciutto and Lomo. My favourite was by far the Nduja, a slightly spicy meat. The charcuterie boards are perfect for those looking for a little nibble alongside a glass of wine or two.
For our chosen small plates, we decided to go for the chunk of Brie (there are other large chunks of cheese to go for,) boozy tomatoes, and another plate of prosciutto. The small plates come with a side of sourdough and dips too. I would say that three small plates and a charcuterie boards were the perfect amount for two, however I would suggest ordering a couple more plates if you’re big eaters!
We teamed our selection of plates with a stunning dry rose wine. It’s always a real treat going out for a nice bottle of wine and savouring every mouthful, alongside different flavours of food.
The Bottle also host wine and dinner evenings, with the next one being Wine Tasting on the 13th October. The deli is available to shop, so even if you don’t have a table booked, feel free to wonder in and browse at their selection of meats, cheese & wine.
